Everything school should have been at the Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest

Being a teenager was miserable, confusing and awkward. The Most Cake invites you to revisit those exhilarating times at its new school, opening for one night only at this year’s Fringe! fest.

Taking over an abandoned and frankly very eery school in Hackney, TMC brings you a night of how school should have been. Following a rousing assembly and a strict nit check, full attendance will be expected at our Sapphology assembly, genitalia art lesson, talks, a jeerleading gym session and shameful reading time. Then, after a stint in our confession booth, you’ll probably need to sip on a Double Period…

Film showing:
But I’m a Cheerleader (15)
We’ll be screening 1999 gay lib flick But I’m A Cheerleader enhanced with meaningful drinking games, jeerleaders and searingly insightful commentary on Clea duVall.

+ The Ruby Besler Show Presents “Give It A Whirl” / Dir. Anastasia Barnes / USA / 2012 / 2min
Ruby does a Katy Perry.

Main event:
- Cringe! Diary reading
Teenage diaries can be emotional, especially if you’re a lesbian and have LOTS OF FEELINGS that NO-ONE UNDERSTANDS. That’s why it’s fun to read your diary out loud years later in an abandoned Girls School! Building on the idea of Cringe! (“better and cheaper than therapy!”) TMC invites you to come share your gay angst, descriptions of emotional holocaust and embarrassing references to Avril Lavigne.
